Taxidermy Tawny Frogmouth under glass dome

A Victorian example of a Frogmouth beneath a glass dome.

One of the world’s most extraordinary birds, capable of camouflaging itself completely in dense jungle. It is an inhabitant of Australia and New Guinea and is related to the European Nightjar. In appearance it is almost exactly like a gigantic Nightjar except for the fact that its mouth is huge. It is unusual to find good specimens of this fascinating bird. This particular example is housed beneath an attractive Victorian glass dome.
