Ledot taxidermy hanging dead duck circa 1890 signed in chalk

A hanging dead Duck in a wall frame by Ledot of Paris, 19th century and signed in signature red chalk with a label on the reverse of the dome.

Ledot operated out of the Rue de Rivoli in Paris for decades. The domes are nearly always signed in chalk but not necessarily labelled. For a company that was obviously once a large operation very little is known about them. Due to the fact they operated out of France and date from the mid to late 19th century their cases aren’t particularly common in this country and have always been highly sought after.
