Cave Bear skull

£2,500.00

The upper jaw of a large Cave Bear.

Description

The Cave Bear was a bear species that ranged across Europe and Asia. ThisĀ  gigantic creature that was alleged to drive our ancestors out of Caves supposedly became extinct around 20,000 years ago. This upper jaw is a particularly large one with one canine tooth snapped off. The wear on the snapped tooth shows that the injury would have happened in life.
