Antique taxidermy Buzzard by Henry Shaw

Magnificent taxidermy Buzzard by Henry Shaw in a striking pose with prey.

An absolutely magnificent specimen of a Buzzard with its wings raised, by one of the greatest of Victorian taxidermists – Henry Shaw of Shrewsbury.  Henry Shaw, not to be confused with his grandson Harry Shaw (who later took over the business), died in the late 1880’s making this an early, but brilliantly executed, piece of taxidermy. It’s perfect condition is quite remarkable.
